SRA investigation? SRA interventions? SDT proceedings? "The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) says it expects to shut down 56% more law firms this year [2008] than it did last. The number of ‘interventions’ could reach 75 by the end of the year, compared with 48 in 2007. Intervention involves the SRA sending an agent to close a practice on grounds ranging from dishonesty to death. Of the 58 interventions made by the end of October, the most common grounds were dishonesty, followed by substantial/frequent rule breaches." “Law Society Gazette” 27th November 2008
